Commemorating the 200th anniversary of the death of the influential and whimsical 19th century Viennese storyteller, with music by Schumann, Tchaikovsky and Hoffmann himself.

Featuring pianists Angela Park and Vanessa Yu, choreographer Pia Bouman, music broadcaster and storyteller Tom Allen, violinist Hannah Corbett and cellist Brendan Rogers.

I Piano Trio in E Major, AV. 52 by E.T.A. Hoffmann
II Kreisleriana, op. 16 by Robert Schumann, with readings from Hoffmann’s writing by Tom Allen
III Excerpts from The Nutcracker Suite, op. 71a by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky for piano 4 hands, and conversation with Tom Allen and Pia Bouman on the magic and meaning of The Nutcracker.
