BeMused Network Privacy Policy

At BeMused, we are serious about your privacy because getting junk mail in your inbox or having your personal information in the wrong hands—not so amusing!

This policy sets out our privacy practices, explains how we handle the information we collect when you visit and use BeMused Network services or the other BeMused Network domains, products, services, applications, and content. When you use our services, you are consenting to the collection, transfer, manipulation, storage, disclosure, and other uses of your information as set out in this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy only applies to us and our agents. It does not apply to any non-BeMused Network services that you choose to access through BeMused Network Services, or any individuals that we don't manage or employ.

We carefully consider the privacy policies of third party services and partners that we work with, and try to facilitate access only with those that share our commitment to protecting your privacy. However, we are not responsible for their privacy policies and practices, and you access their services through BeMused Network at your own risk.

Collection and Use of Information

Account Information

When you create an account on BeMused Network Services, you have the option of authenticating yourself through a third-party service, like Facebook. This links that third party account with your BeMused Network account. If you are not using a third party service, the only information we require in order to create your account is your valid and verified email address.

Information from Third Party Services

When you link your BeMused Network account to a third party service, we do not receive or store passwords for third party service accounts. Once the accounts are linked, we may collect and store personally identifying and non-identifying information that you have provided to that third party service, and consented to having shared with services like us.

Billing and Credit Card information

When you purchase for-fee services or a subscription from us, we may ask you for your billing address and credit card number. We may store your billing address as part of your profile. We will keep this information in the strictest confidence (same as any other personally identifying information).

Email Communications with Us

We will never email you to ask for your password or other Account information; if you receive such an email, send it to us so we can take appropriate actions. All users will receive administrative communication from us via email as part of our services.

User Content

Content submitted to BeMused Network should be public information that is accessible to everyone, including search engines. Once the content appears on BeMused Network, it may be copied and shared on the internet. Users are free to remove or request removal of content from public access on BeMused Network, but copies of the content that have been made available elsewhere by any person or entity are outside of our control.

Information Related to Use of BeMused Network Services

In order to improve your experience on BeMused Network, we collect general usage information from all users, such as the number and frequency of visitors, the pages visited, the links clicked on, the length of those visits and the topics you search for.

We automatically receive and record non-personally identifying information such as your IP address, what browser you are using, the device you are using, your operating system and version, the website or service that referred you to us, the date and time of your visit, information from cookies we have placed on your browser, and other available information.

Sharing of Information

We never share personally identifying information we receive from you unless we have your permission, or have provided you with notice regarding the sharing of information, and with whom.

In some circumstances, we may share information that we collect with contracted service providers or consultants. They will not have any right to use the information we share with them beyond the scope and duration of their work with us. You hereby consent to our sharing of personal information with them.

Information Disclosure

We reserve the right to access, preserve, and disclose information as we reasonably believe is necessary, in our sole discretion, to satisfy a legal requirement, enforce our Terms of Service and agreements, prevention of fraudulent and unauthorized activities, and to protect BeMused Network, our users, any third parties and the public in general.

The Security of your Information

We strive to protect your private information. However, we cannot guarantee the safety of your personal information. Unauthorized entry or use, hardware or software failure, and other factors may compromise the security of user information at any time. It’s important for you to prevent unauthorized access to your account and personal information with strong passwords, limiting access to your computer and signing off after you have finished using BeMused Network Services.

Deleting Your Account

You can delete your account from your account management page. Deleting your Account will not entirely remove the content you have published from our systems, because of caching, backups, or other references to your account. We will make a reasonable effort to make the content you have published inaccessible, however some of the public activity on your account prior to deletion may remain stored and publically accessible on our servers indefinitely.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we’ll follow the modifications process spelled out in our Term of Service. The use of information we collect is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time the information is used.
