Women are at the centre of each story in this programme of contemporary operatic works by composers including Leslie Uyeda, Anna Pidgorna, Anna Höstmann, John Estacio and Jake Heggie. “She’s The One” showcases recent works that are fast becoming mainstays of the contemporary operatic repertoire. Each story displays a different facet of women’s lives, from the grim (and Grimm) to the lighthearted; from the comic to the tragic; from the innocent maiden to the frightful crone.
