Le film Le Bel été du réalisateur français Pierre Creton est présenté en partenariat avec la Corkin Gallery dans le cadre de l'exposition Maisons/Ateliers de l'artiste Vincent Barré. La projection sera accompagnée d'un entretien en présence du sculpteur.
La galerie Corkin présente Maisons/Ateliers, une exposition de sculptures en bronze et d'œuvres sur papier de l'artiste français Vincent Barré. Occupant divers domaines artistiques, de l'architecture au cinéma, Vincent Barré a maintenu une présence centrale sur la scène culturelle française depuis plus de 50 ans. Barré a commencé sa carrière d'architecte en 1974, en étudiant auprès du célèbre architecte Louis Kahn. En 1982, il se tourne vers la sculpture et commence à travailler sur des constructions en bois et en métal qui répondent à l'architecture et au paysage. Ses sculptures à grande échelle en fonte et en bronze se retrouvent dans des espaces publics et privés en France, en Allemagne et en Chine.
La réalisation d'une sculpture en cire de l'exposition Maisons/Ateliers est présentée dans Le bel été - un film de Pierre Creton, avec la participation de Barré, son partenaire dans la vie et dans l'art. Le film, inspiré de leurs propres expériences, dépeint des histoires de communauté, d'amour et de sensualité dans la vie des habitants d'un petit village de Normandie qui accueille des adolescents africains immigrés.

The film A beautiful summer by French director Pierre Creton is presented in partnership with the Corkin Gallery as part of the exhibition Maisons/Ateliers by artist Vincent Barré. The screening will be accompanied by an interview with the sculptor.
Corkin Gallery presents Maisons/Ateliers, an exhibition of bronze sculpture and works on paper by French artist Vincent Barré. Occupying varied realms of the arts, from architecture to film-making, Vincent Barré has maintained a central presence in the French cultural scene for over 50 years. Barré began his career as an architect in 1974, studying under the famed architect Louis Kahn. Pivoting to sculpture in 1982, Barré began working on wood and metal constructions that respond to architecture and landscape. His large-scale cast iron and bronze sculptures can be found in the public and private spaces of France, Germany and China.
The making of a wax sculpture in the exhibition Maisons/Ateliers is featured in Le bel été (A Beautiful Summer) - a film by Pierre Creton, with the participation of Barré, his partner in life and art. The film, inspired by their own experiences, portrays stories of community, love and sensuality in the lives of the inhabitants of a small village in Normandy that receives teenaged African immigrants.
