Ce film est présenté en partenariat avec Radio-Canada Toronto dans le cadre de la fête du cinéma d'animation. 

Venez profiter du film en version originale avec les sous-titres en anglais dans notre salle ! 

Pourquoi avons-nous choisi ce film ?

Summer of 85 transporte les spectateurs dans un lieu, une époque et des sentiments qui semblent tout à fait réels, et pas aussi éloignés qu'il n'y paraît au premier abord.
Des prises de vue de rêve et des performances intimes se combinent à des éclairs d'humour et à une tension qui plane dans cette romance homosexuelle magnifiquement racontée qui devrait plaire autant aux adolescents qu'aux générations plus âgées.

Synopsis :

L’été de ses 16 ans, Alexis, lors d’une sortie en mer sur la côte normande, est sauvé héroïquement du naufrage par David, 18 ans. Alexis vient de rencontrer l’ami de ses rêves. Mais le rêve durera-t-il plus qu'un été ? L’été 85…

Our Movie Thursdays are back! 

This movie is presented in partnership with Radio-Canada Toronto as part of the animation film festival.

Why did we choose this film? 

Summer of 85 transports viewers to a place, time and feeling that feel altogether real, and not nearly as far away as they initially might seem.
Sunny, dreamy location shots and intimate performances combine with flashes of humor and a hovering tension in what is a beautifully told queer romance that should appeal as much to teens as older generations.

Synopsis:

What do you dream of when you're 16 years old and in a seaside resort in Normandy in the 1980s? A best friend? A lifelong teen pact? Scooting off on adventures on a boat or a motorbike? Living life at breakneck speed? No. You dream of death. Because you can't get a bigger kick than dying. And that's why you save it till the very end. The summer holidays are just beginning, and this story recounts how Alexis grew into himself.

Please note that in accordance with current health measures, proof of vaccination and an ID will be required at the entrance of the building. Wearing a mask is mandatory in our premises.
