La musique est un art en constante évolution fondé sur les aspects culturels et la créativité. Les expériences musicales nous procurent des émotions et nous permettent de rentrer en connexion avec un groupe.

Rumba congolaise et soukous sont au rendez-vous avec Blaise Labamba. Né au Congo-Kinshasa, alors encore appelé Zaïre, d’un père pianiste et une mère choriste, grandissant dans un monde où la musique africaine est en pleine effervescence, Blaise Bamba s’initie au piano, à la guitare et aux percussions. En 1990, il monte son premier groupe dans son quartier, Tout-Chic-Gombé. Entre 1993 et 1995, Blaise suit des études de musique à l’Institut National des Arts à Kinshasa, puis il entre dans le groupe d’une des stars congolaises de l’époque, le général Defao, et son “Big Stars”. Commence alors une succession de tournées internationales ; Blaise joue avec de grands noms de la musique africaine et sillonne le continent. En 1999, il s’installe à Montréal, et il prend sa place sur le territoire canadien en accompagnant divers groupes sur scène. Avec des centaines de concerts au compteur, Blaise Labamba se lance en solo depuis 2009.

Music is an ever evolving art based on cultural aspects and creativity. Musical experiences give us emotions and allow us to connect with a group. Explore the site of Blaise Labamba and Kotakoli to better understand the magic of their music.

Congolese rumba and soukous are dished up generously when Blaise La Bamba and Kotakoli take to the stage. Born in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, to a pianist father and chorister mother, growing up in a world of burgeoning African music, Blaise Bamba Muana Manzo was introduced to the piano, guitar and percussions. In 1990, he set up his first group in his neighbourhood, Tout-Chic-Gombé. Between 1993 and 1995, Blaise studied music at the Institut National des Arts in Kinshasa and then joined the group of a leading Congolese star of that era, General Defao and his Big Stars.That was the start of a series of international tours. Blaise played with the big names of African music and travelled across the continent. In 1999, he settled in Montreal and took his place in Canada accompanying various groups on stage. After notching up hundreds of concerts, Blaise La Bamba set off on a solo career.
