Discussion / conférence sur la vie, l’oeuvre et l’apport artistique majeur du légendaire guitariste gitan Django Reinhardt (1910-1953) avec le guitariste franco-américain à la carrière internationale Stephane Wrembel (compositeur de « Bistro Fada », thème principal du film Minuit à Paris).

Beaucoup plus que précurseur du jazz manouche, Django est considéré par plusieurs comme l’un des plus importants musiciens du 20e siècle. En plein cœur de l'effervescente scène artistique parisienne des années 1930 à 1950, le célèbre compositeur a réussi l’exploit de fusionner le romantisme gitan à l'impressionnisme classique français de Ravel et Debussy et au fougueux jazz américain qui émergeait à l’époque.

Discussion / Talk on the life, the work and the artistic contribution of the brilliant and legendary guitarist Django Reinhardt (1910-1953), with the Franco-American guitarist Stephane Wrembel, internationally reputed (composer of “Bistro Fada”, main song of the movie Midnight in Paris).

Much more than a precursor of gipsy jazz, Django is considered as one of the most important musicians of the 20^th century. Evolving within the effervescent and artistic Paris from the 1930’s to the 1950’s, the famous composer succeed in mixing the gipsy romanticism, the classic French impressionism of Ravel and Debussy, and the energic American jazz which was emerging back then.
