Featured Program

Doors at 1:30 – Screening at 2pm (until 3:30) Steve Nash will emcee.

Join us at the Paradise Theatre during TIFF for a special big-screen celebration of some of the funniest, most inventive and entertaining films to come out of theToronto 48 Hour Film Project in recent years.

After 17 years of producing the Toronto 48HFP, Steve Nash and Chris Cherry have hand-picked 10 personal favourites from 2022–2026 — films that made us laugh, surprised us, stuck with us and reminded us just how much creativity can come out of one crazy weekend of filmmaking.

Every Toronto 48HFP film was written, shot and edited in just 48 hours, while incorporating a required character, prop and line of dialogue and working within a randomly selected genre — but you’d never know it from watching them. These films look and feel like their creators had months to make them.

This particular collection leans heavily toward comedy, with time travel, vampires, curses, dystopias, dark comedy, food films, buddy films and plenty of wonderfully strange filmmaking along the way.
