THE CRAFTSMEN AND THE PROPHET features music by three preeminent American composers, as performed by two outstanding Toronto pianists.  Aaron Copland and Elliott Carter meticulously built their musical works, evolving through various styles but always focused on the craft of composition.  John Cage worked in a more intuitive and, at times, purposefully "random" way. The pieces on this programme explores the dichotomy between structure and freedom; careful cultivation and wild abandon.
