Stéphane Wrembel est l'un des guitaristes les plus réputés au monde, spécialisé dans le style du légendaire compositeur/guitariste Django Reinhardt ; il a appris son métier parmi les gitans dans les campings de la campagne française. Il a eu une carrière remarquable, faisant le tour du monde, tout en publiant 16 albums sous son nom et le nom de plume, The Django Experiment.  Ses compositions originales ont figuré dans les films de Woody Allen Vicki Cristina Barcelona ("Big Brother") et Midnight in Paris ("Bistro Fada").  Il a contribué à la partition originale du film Festival de Rifkin, sorti en janvier 2022. Depuis 2003, Wrembel produit le Festival Django a Gogo, qui réunit certains des meilleurs musiciens du monde pour célébrer le style de guitare Sinti et se produire dans des lieux prestigieux tels que Carnegie Hall et The Town Hall.

En octobre 2019, Wrembel a publié Django L'Impressionniste mettant en lumière 17 préludes peu connus pour guitare seule que Reinhardt a enregistrés entre 1937 et 1950.  Wrembel est le premier interprète à avoir joué toutes ces pièces et à les avoir rassemblées dans une œuvre maîtresse définitive. Pour Wrembel, Django L'Impressionniste est un portrait du côté classique de Reinhardt (il était un admirateur de Maurice Ravel et Claude Debussy, les pères du mouvement impressionniste français).  Il a fallu à Wrembel 4 ans de préparation pour apprendre, répéter et enregistrer ces chansons.  En 2020, Wrembel a passé beaucoup de temps à transcrire minutieusement les chansons, qui ont ensuite été notées par Adam Perlmutter, éditeur d'Acoustic Guitar, ce qui a donné lieu à un livre de 111 pages, magnifiquement relié et imprimé.

Stephane Wrembel is one of the most highly regarded guitarists in the world specializing in the style of legendary composer/guitarist Django Reinhardt; he learned his craft among the Gypsies at campsites in the French countryside. He has had a remarkable career, touring the world, while releasing 16 albums under his name and the nom de plume, The Django Experiment.  His original compositions have been featured in Woody Allen films Vicki Cristina Barcelona (“Big Brother”) and Midnight in Paris (“Bistro Fada”).  He contributed the original score for Rifkin’s Festival released in January 2022. Since 2003, Wrembel has produced the Django a Gogo Festival, bringing together some of the finest musicians in the world to celebrate the Sinti guitar style to perform in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall and The Town Hall.

In October of 2019, Wrembel released Django L’Impressionniste on putting the spotlight on 17 little-known preludes for solo guitar Reinhardt recorded between 1937 and 1950.  Wrembel is the first interpreter who has performed all these pieces and collected them in one definitive masterwork. For Wrembel, Django L’Impressionniste is a portrait of Reinhardt’s classical side (he was an admirer of Maurice Ravel and Claude Debussy, the fathers of the French impressionist movement).  It took Wrembel 4 years of preparation to learn, rehearse and record these songs.  Wrembel spent a great deal of time in 2020 painstakingly transcribing the songs, which were then notated by Adam Perlmutter, editor of Acoustic Guitar, resulting in a 111-page, beautifully bound and printed book.
