Event Details
The ACTA Recorder Quartet opens 2018 with a program of consort music from Canada and western Europe, including music by Papineau-Couture, Fiala, Arvo Pärt, Telemann, Corelli, Bach and a few surprises. On the musical menu are arrangements and original works for recorder quartet, from a few of Bach’s famous Goldberg Variations and Arvo Pärt’s Summa, to a set of 16th-century chansons published by Attaignant.
We’ll be playing a variety of instruments, both Baroque and modern versions of the recorder, and also copies of a matched set of Renaissance recorders – copies of a consort from the late fifteenth century - built by Bob Marvin.
It’s a Sunday afternoon concert in a warm, friendly and acoustically lovely space – join us and bring along your young recorder player friends and relatives!
ACTA is Alison Melville, Colin Savage, Tatsuki Shimoda, and Anne Massicotte.
